Johnson Matthey Introduces Biomed 1000™ Alloy

Johnson Matthey, known for its forte in metallurgy and alloy development has introduced Biomed 1000  Alloy as an alternative to Platinum. Developed specifically for the medical device industry, Biomed 1000  is a Palladium-based, radiopaque alloy which contains NO platinum. In addition to a lower per-ounce price, Biomed 1000  yields more feet per ounce. The lower material cost, combined with its higher yield makes Biomed 1000 an effective, low-cost alternative for EP catheter guidewires, marker bands and micromachined parts.
