From: William Scilingo, Operations Director, West Chester, PA

Re: Compliance with EU RoHS2 (RoHS re-cast) and WEEE Directives

This letter is to advise you of our marketed product compliance status in respect of the European Union (EU) Directive 2002/95/EU - Restriction on the use of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS); and Directive 2002 /EC, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

We are complying as follows:

  • All of the metallic products that we melt and form conform with the applicable limits for Cadmium, Lead and Chromium.
  • None of the other RoHS specified substances are intentionally added to our products and these are removed at time of processing by the high melting temperatures.
  • Due to the high intrinsic value of our precious metal product, we feel certain that a very high percentage is being reclaimed and recycled per the WEEE Directive at the end of useful service life.  All of our customers are aware that Johnson Matthey Inc. has extensive refining services for these products.
