Tensile data is typical of wire diameters <.010" diameter using 10" gauge length and a strain rate of 1.0 inch per minute.
Please note that the ranges listed above are not for rod stock as typical rod stock sizes are larger than .010" diameter, and are usually tested with a 2" gauge length, and 0.2 inch per minute.
Tensile properties are strongly dependent on the extent of cold work reduction and therefore to some extent on the cross-section of the diameter as well as to a lesser degree on the gauge length of the test sample and the rate of strain when testing.
Values provided are typical of standard production methods. Values beyond those listed are possible for some alloys and product sizes depending on alloy composition by special processing techniques. Please consult our Engineering department for your special requirement applications.
"As-drawn" is defined as characteristic of material that is directly drawn to finish cross-section with no heat treatment applied as a final processing step.
"Stress Relieved" is defined as characteristic of material that has been heat treated after all final cross-section reductions in a temperature range below that which results in full recrystallization of the micro structure.
"Full Anneal" is defined as characteristic of material that has been heat treated as a final processing step above the recrystallization temperature resulting in a complete transition to an equiaxed grain structure.
Please note that typically only chemical composition and mechanical properties are measured for each manufactured lo
